Directional Min IV Rank

Setting key
directional_min_iv_rank
Default
30

What it does

IV Rank floor required for the funding credit spread component of a directional pair. The directional engine sells a credit spread to partially fund the debit leg because it needs enough IV to collect real premium. A symbol with unknown IV rank passes through (no block on missing data).

When to change it

Lower to 20 to allow entries on lower-IV names where the funding credit is thinner. The floor exists to prevent paying full debit on the directional bet without meaningful funding.

Safe range

20 (permissive, thin funding) to 50 (rich funding only).

Example

Bullish signal on AAPL with IV Rank at 25. With directional_min_iv_rank=30, the bot does not enter: the credit spread would not generate enough premium to meaningfully fund the call spread.
