What it does
Maximum DTE for directional debit entries. Caps at 45 to avoid tying up capital too long in a directional bet that may take too long to resolve.
When to change it
Widen to 60 if you want more duration on directional bets. The 30-45 DTE band is standard tastytrade practice for debit structures.
Safe range
35 (tight) to 60 (wider).
Example
On June 1, the bot targets expirations between July 1 (30 DTE) and July 16 (45 DTE) for directional entries.
