What it does
Minimum DTE for directional debit entries. Directional debit structures (long calls, long puts, debit spreads) need duration, since theta works against you as a buyer. 30 DTE gives the trade time to be right without excessive theta drag.
When to change it
Standard mode stays at 30. Swing mode uses a separate 7-21 DTE band (swing_dte_lo/swing_dte_hi). If swing_mode is OFF, this value controls all directional entries.
Safe range
21 (shorter duration, more theta risk) to 45 (longer, more capital tied up).
Example
With 30 DTE minimum, a bullish signal on June 1 targets a July 1 or later expiration.
