Mechanical Engine Enabled

Setting key
mechanical_enabled
Default
ON

What it does

Master on/off toggle for the mechanical engine. When OFF, the mechanical engine does not scan for new iron condor entries. Existing mechanical positions continue to be managed and exited per their rules. The other engines (earnings, contraction, directional) are unaffected. This is the primary engine: it runs neutral iron condors at 30-65 DTE when IV Rank is elevated. Disabling it means no new premium-selling entries until re-enabled.

When to change it

Turn OFF temporarily if you want to stop new mechanical entries while keeping earnings or contraction entries running. Turn OFF permanently only if you are running a different strategy mix.

Safe range

ON or OFF.

Example

You want to pause mechanical entries during a particularly uncertain macro period while keeping the earnings engine running for scheduled IV-crush plays. Turn mechanical OFF, leave earnings ON.
