Swing Manage DTE

Setting key
swing_manage_dte
Default
5

What it does

Sets the swing-specific version of the DTE backstop, consulted only when swing mode is on. Swing entries land in the 7 to 21 DTE band, at or below the standard backstop of 21, so swing trades need their own shorter floor.

When to change it

Rarely. The critical constraint is that this must stay below the swing entry DTE minimum. Set it at or above that minimum and it preempts the swing time exit, closing swing trades immediately on entry.

Safe range

3 to 7, and always below the swing entry DTE minimum of 7.

Example

Set to 5 and a swing trade rides until 5 days to expiration unless the swing time exit or another rule closes it first.
